created by a girl thirsty for Italy
Founded in Prague, Czech Republic, in May 2020, my goal was to make cheerful, summer jewellery reminiscent of beach holidays, bringing people to sunny Italian coastlines no matter where in the world they were.

My love for the beauty, culture, landscapes, people and produce of 'il bel paese' - Italy - inspired me to learn Italian and move to Rome in September 2020 in pursuit of la dolce vita. There I got even more inspired and started using Italian glass and gemstones in my designs.

Today, Beads & Lemons resides in Prague, celebrating all aspects of Italian life and beauty with limited, handmade collections of unique jewellery. We thrive to be the mood board and inspiration for dreamers, travellers and lemon and jewellery enthusiasts alike!

Beads & Lemons is a one-woman business that promotes the #shopsmall and #shoplocal movements, following ethical, sustainable and waste-free practices.

When life gives you lemons
With a lifelong love of all things Italian, Josefine Storková discovered a natural niche for her jewellery making hobby: necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets inspired by the Italian landscape, coasts and culture. In March 2020, with more time at home in Prague, she began uploading photos of her work to her Instagram page, Beads & Lemons.
Her mission: to provide a sense of escapism and a taste of la dolce vita at a time when it was needed most. “My goal was to make cheerful, summer jewellery reminiscent of beach holidays, bringing people to sunny Italian coastlines no matter where in the world they were,” says Josefine.
As interest in her jewellery grew, Josefine realised it was time to upgrade her hobby into a business. In October 2020, Josefine launched her business website and supports it through steady growth, engagement and conversions from Instagram, which is now responsible for 75% of her total revenue.
As a one-woman business, Beads & Lemons continues to thrive as part of the #shopsmall and #shoplocal movements, and follows ethical, sustainable and waste-free practices: Josefine uses durable Czech and Italian glass or stone beads, and natural freshwater pearls. All jewellery is hand-wrapped in responsibly made, reusable pouches, then shipped in recyclable packaging.
